Last Update 3 years ago

When you have your tap terminal, you will need to download a bridging application to connect the device to your laptop or desktop in order to successfully process payments. Before installing the bridge, please ensure the terminal is plugged in to your laptop or desktop.

Please note: This process is not required when using our mobile app. To process payments via app, please see this article.

Installing the Bridge - MAC users

  1. Download the bridge from here.
  2. Go to your downloads folder
  3. Right click on the file
  4. Select 'Open with'
  5. Select 'Terminal'
  6. Click 'Open' on the popup
  7. The terminal will now open and you should see a messaging saying 'Waiting for client'. This means the terminal is ready to start processing payment. For more details on how to process payment, see this article.
  8. If you see a message that says 'Get Firmware Fail Error Code: 0x1: no response from reader', this means your terminal is not plugged in to your desktop/laptop. Plug it in and wait a minute to see if the message changes to connected. If not, please repeat steps 2-6 above.
  9. No permission to open the file: If you face an error message that says you do not have permission to open the application, or the file cannot be opened, go back to step 1 and try to right click on the downloaded file to open instead of opening directly from the download.

Please note, this process may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
