Two-factor authentication
My Appointments
Last Update 3 years ago

Otherwise known as 2FA, this is an optional process that provides a higher level of security to protect a users credentials and the data associated with their account. The process involves providing two different authentication factors to verify account ownership. This includes entering a password as the first factor and a randomly generated one-time code as the second factor.
This option is found in 'My settings' then under 'General settings'. Click on Two-factor authentication and switch on or off. If you have added any team members, including an administrator, switching 2FA on will affect all practitioner accounts, meaning all team members will be required to authenticate themselves when they login. Only the business owner can add or remove 2FA.
Please note the following:
- When logging in, we'll send the one-time code to the username provided, that is, your email or your mobile number depending on which you entered
- The system will automatically remember you have authenticated your account for 30 days meaning you only need to authenticate yourself every 30 days unless logging in from another browser or device.
- You can elect to authenticate yourself every 24 hours by unselecting the 'Remember me for 30 days' option
- If you login to MA with a private/incognito browser, you'll need to enter your one-time code with every single login.
- If you switch to a different browser, or a different device, you'll need to enter the one-time code again. In this case, we'll remember your one-time password for 30 days on this device/browser as well unless you unselect this option.
